Interviews – Presentation
This session looks at the types of interview you may encounter, the questions you may be asked. You’ll hear first-hand what to expect and learn how to prepare effectively.
Monday 13 November - 6.00pm – 6.50pm – U020 Brockington Building Extension

Working in the UK after your Studies (Paragon Law) – for Non-EEA students – Presentation
Paragon Law Solicitors will explain the current immigration programmes and schemes if you are looking to stay in the UK to work after your studies. This event runs only in November and April - it is helpful to be informed early about the immigration schemes in the UK, so you can prepare in advance. You must register in advance using Careers Online. Please arrive early.

Non-EEA students: Business Immigration Appointments (Application form required) An opportunity for a short one-to-one appointment with Solicitors Paragon Law immediately after the 'Working in the UK After Your Studies' event above, to receive immigration advice for you if you are currently in negotiations with an employer about a job

Find out how to structure and present your skills and achievements to create a powerful CV and covering letter that will impress employers.

Employer Tests
This workshop will show you how to make effective use of 'Graduates First' and other resources in preparing for employer tests. You will take a test online and be guided through your results and feedback.
Wednesday 15 November - 2.00pm-3.30pm - N004 Computer Lab, Haslegrave

LinkedIn: Workshop
This is an interactive lab session for students to be able to improve their LinkedIn profile and skills with support from Careers staff. In this session you will be able to:
• Learn about how to tailor your LinkedIn profile to maximise your chances of being seen by potential recruiters
• Recognise and utilise the various tools available on LinkedIn to help with your job search and grow your network
• Ask questions regarding your profile and how to use LinkedIn effectively

This is your chance to work on your LinkedIn profile in real time with experienced staff on hand to help you along the way!

Please note: You must have attended an LinkedIn presentation prior to booking onto this workshop.
Thursday 16 November - 12.00pm – 1.30pm – WAV056 Computer Lab Wavy Top

SBE, SSPGS, SSEHS & AED Mock Assessment Centre- sponsored by Enterprise Rent-A-Car
• Practise some elements of an assessment centre with Careers Network and recruiters
• Have a go at the types of interview questions you may encounter
• Experience a group activity
Delivered by Careers Network and staff from a range of top recruiters, you’ll hear first-hand what to expect and learn how to prepare effectively. Come along and gain as much practice as you can before your first real assessment centre.

This workshop is for students from all years in SBE, SSPGS, SSEHS, AED Departments and will be open to students from other departments if there are remaining places left two days before the event.

The event on this date is supported by Unilever, Johnson & Johnson, 3M, ICAEW.
