FACILITIES MANAGEMENT NOTICE OF MINOR WORKS - ELECTRICAL SHUTDOWN
FACILITIES MANAGEMENT - NOTICE OF MINOR WORKS
ELECTRICAL SHUTDOWN Saturday 11th November 2017 until Sunday 12th November 2017
7.00am to 7.00pm – approximate for both days
SIR DAVID DAVIES – (W) BUILDING
SPECIFICS OF THIS NOTICE:
As part of the works to refurb W building we need to modify/upgrade the electrical infrastructure. To accommodate the new heating/ventilation plant and changes to enhance voltage surge protection we need to isolate the main distribution panel.
The contractors have requested 12 hour shut downs for both Saturday 11th November 2017 and Sunday 12th November 2017, the approx. times for both will be 7.00am to 7.00pm. Please note, the existing distribution panel is original to the building and although in good order the times detailed may change on the days in question. In particular, 7.00pm on Sunday may change if we still have works to complete.
HOW WILL THE WORKS AFFECT ME?
We believe all power/lighting/Data systems will be off during the stated times. NB. Emergency lighting is designed to provide escape lighting but will only provide this for approx. 3 hours. The fire alarm system has sufficient battery back-up to maintain its full operation over both days but the panels will show ‘fault’.
This power outage will affect access into W building from S building, please do not enter W building via the link bridge during the times detailed (warning notices will be posted).
This power outage will affect the operation of the lighting for Holywell rubber crumb pitch.

Although we have identified times when the power will be off emergency lighting back up systems do take time to recover/recharge, please do not enter W building until 6.00am Monday 13th November.
