Adding a YouTube clip to your recording

Number 1  Open the web editor. Navigate to your module on Learn and find the recording you want to add the YouTube clip to in the ReVIEW block. Click the Edit icon on the session. This will open a new tab in your browser for the Panopto editor.

Number 2 Select the timing for the clip. Click on where you wish to insert the YouTube clip on the editing timeline at the bottom of the screen. You can use the magnifying glass on the right hand side of the timeline to zoom in and help select a precise time. A red line will appear to indicate where you have chosen to make your selection.

Number 3  Adding in the YouTube clip. To the left-hand side of the screen, you will see a free format box and beneath this a button with a ‘play’ icon. Select this button:

Copy the link to the clip you wish to include from YouTube (you will find this on YouTube under the ‘Share’ icon). Paste this into the ‘Link’ field on ReVIEW. Beneath this you also have the option to adjust the start and end points of the YouTube clip, whether to show YouTube controls whilst the clip is playing and whether the clip should automatically play once this section of the recording is reached.

You should now be able to see that the YouTube clip has been added to the section descriptions on the left-hand side of the screen and it will be included in the video when you next play it back. You can rename the clip if you click on the title.

Number 4 Deleting a YouTube clip. If you wish to a delete a YouTube clip from your recording, simply hover over where the clip is shown in the section descriptions and click on the rubbish bin icon which will appear on the right-hand side:

Adding a quiz

A new feature within ReVIEW is the ability to add quiz questions to any point in your recording. You can use this feature to ensure that students are engaging with the content in a recording and understand the material being presented.

 

Number 1  Open the web editor. Navigate to your module on Learn and click on the ReVIEW block. Click the Edit icon on the session you want to add a quiz to. This will open a new tab in your browser for the Panopto editor.

Number 2 Adding a quiz. In the left Navigation pane, click on the ‘Quizzing’ link. Select the point in the timeline where you want to create a quiz and click on ‘Add a quiz’. A form will appear in the right- hand window and a timestamped quiz icon will appear in contents of your recording.

Number 3  Creating a question. Within the form, you can select the drop-down menu in the top right corner to show different types of quiz questions. The quiz options include True/False, Multiple Choice, and Multiple Select. The default is multiple choice.

Click in the top right-hand corner if you wish to change the question type.
  
Two answers are shown as the default, but you can click on ‘Add answer’ to add in as many choices as needed. The correct answer is the one selected. For example, in the image above, the correct answer is Answer 1. If you need to remove any answers, click on the X at the end of the answer line.

Once you are done with a question and want to add another one, click the Add a Question button at the bottom of the form.
  
Once you have added in your questions, click the ‘Done’ button at the bottom of the form. You will then be directed to the Options page for this Quiz.

Number 3  Managing the quiz settings. In addition to the options shown, you can re-order questions by clicking on the arrows and delete questions if needed.

Once you are finished, click the ‘Finish’ button. The name of your quiz will now appear in the Quizzing pane.
 
Repeat these steps for each quiz you want to add to your session.
 
When you are finished, click the ‘Publish’ button to save your changes

During playback, when it is time for a Quiz the video will pause until the question(s) is/are answered.

Viewing quiz results

Number 1  Accessing quiz results. To access the results of a quiz, click the settings icon on the session the quiz was created in.

Number 2  Displaying results. On the left, click the Quiz Results tab to display the results.

From this tab, you can see Quiz Results Summary which shows the total number of correct answers and questions as well as the percentage correct for each quiz. You are also able to get a more detailed view of results by section. Click the Section dropdown to select which quiz section to drill into.
 
You can also expand each user to see which questions they got correct and which questions they got incorrect.

If required a summary of the results can also be downloaded.

Adding a clip from another recording

This can be useful if you want to add an intro, an outro, or additional content for a previously existing video.

You can splice multiple sessions into your recording as follows:

Number 1  Click on the pointer tool and select the point in the video where you want to insert a clip.

Number 2  Click on the add a clip icon to the right of the scissors.

Number 3  Select a session to insert into your video. Then click Save.

By default, it will insert the clip at the beginning of the recording. To change this, under Contents you will see the new session. Hover over the session title and then Click the three dots to Edit the session.

In Edit Session view, you can choose a specific Start time in your recording to insert this session, or just choose at the beginning or at the end. You can also choose the order if you have multiple sessions added at the same time in the video. You can change this order to decide which one will show first.
