Loughborough’s Doctoral College will be exhibiting exciting and innovative research at their annual summer showcase next month.

Taking place on Wednesday 6 June, the showcase is open for all Doctoral Researchers to attend and will feature some of the great work undertaken by researchers from both of the Loughborough campuses.

During the event there will be a poster competition whereby Doctoral Researchers are challenged with the task of communicating their research to a non-specialist audience for the chance to win a £100 cash prize. The deadline to submit a poster is Wednesday 30 May. For more information about the rules of the poster competition, visit the event webpage.

Attendees can also watch the Three Minute Thesis competition, a tense and energetic contest where researchers have only three minutes to concisely explain their research, with just one static slide to accompany them.

A number of professional services will also be present at the event, including Careers Network; Student Services; Library; Loughborough Students’ Union and the PhD Social Support Network

Professor Elizabeth Peel, Associate Pro-Vice Chancellor of the Doctoral College, commented: “The Doctoral College’s Summer Showcase is a fantastic opportunity for Doctoral Researchers from all stages and all disciplines to come together, network, and learn more about the vast range of exciting research conducted at Loughborough University and Loughborough University London.”

The showcase will run from 9:30am-12:30pm in the James France Exhibition Area and will include a buffet lunch for those attending.

The event is free to attend and Doctoral Researchers can book their place here. Loughborough University London students who are interested in attending should contact the Doctoral College by emailing doctoralcollege@lboro.ac.uk for information on travel arrangements.
