Dr Gillian Ragsdell invited to Sun Yat Sen University in China
Dr Gillian Ragsdell, Reader in Knowledge Management and member of the Centre for Information Management at the School of Business and Economics (SBE), recently visited School of Information Management, Sun Yat Sen University, in Guangzhou, China.
Dr Ragsdell was invited by the Dean of School, Professor Miguel Nunes, to offer seminars about her knowledge management research – she chose to present a session on ‘Knowledge Management in the Not-for-Profit Sector’ and another session entitled ‘Action Research to Support Participatory Knowledge Management Interventions in Organizations’.
Gillian said: “It was a great honour to spend time at Sun Yat Sen University – the School of Information Management is a leader in its field. I was very pleased with the interest that was shown in SBE’s knowledge management (KM) research, and I look forward to collaborating further with members of the School.”
In addition to the seminars, Gillian led an afternoon of scholarly communication with the School’s PhD students, and whilst in China visited her former doctoral research student Dr Hui Chen who is now at Renmin University, Beijing, and with whom she has collaborated on several research papers on KM.
