IMPORTANT NOTICE: temporary road closure on University Road week commencing 19 March

Due to the ongoing refurbishment of Wolfson and S buildings in the West Park of campus, there is a need for a temporary closure of part of University Road.

The road will be closed from outside S building to the junction of the access road to Burleigh Court. Work will commence on 19 March for a three week period. It is anticipated the road will be fully open again on Monday 9 April.

Pedestrian access will still be available, but all vehicles (including the Kinch Bus) will be directed down the dual carriageway onto Ashby Road, then back onto campus via West Park entrance to access the Stem Lab, West Park Teaching Hub and Holywell Park.

From Holywell Park, diversions will be in the opposite direction via Ashby Road, up onto the dual carriageway back onto University Road.

Access to Burleigh Court will be maintained via the West Entrance.

Emergency evacuation routes will remain unaltered during the period of works. Diversions will be clearly signposted.

Every effort will be made to keep construction activities to a minimum, specifically noise, dust and work processes.

The work has been planned over the Easter period to minimise disruption to students and staff.

For your own safety and that of others, Facilities Management and the contractors request that you taking note of the works that are in progress and alternative routes.
