University IT systems unavailable – 11th July, 3pm-midnight

The University network will be unavailable on Wednesday 11th July 2018 from 3pm until midnight for planned maintenance to upgrade the IT systems.

During this time all IT systems will be unavailable. This includes email, group workspaces and printing. However, you will still be able to work on any files in the 'My Documents' area on your computer

You will not be able to access the internet, connect to WiFi or use the remote working service (VPN). Any external services that require you to enter your University username and password, such as Outlook365 webmail, will also be unavailable.

Most of the University website will be available to external users. However, some parts of it – for example those hosted by IT Services through the ‘webhost’ system – will not be accessible. Applications that have an external presence, notably the Job Vacancies site (vacancies.lboro.ac.uk), will also be unavailable during this period.

Some University systems will be unavailable from 2pm on 11th July in preparation for the maintenance work. These include iTrent, my.HR and the online job application portal.

While the IT systems are unavailable you will not be able to receive or make calls from your work phone. If you need to contact Security in an emergency during this period, you should call 0800 526966.

You will be able to access any buildings you normally would using your staff/student ID and there is no need to prop open doors.

Once the maintenance work is complete, IT Services will begin conducting a series of tests. You should not experience any difficulties while this is being done the following day, but it may take some time for the systems to return to full functionality.

More information and a set of Frequently Asked Questions are available on the IT Services website.

If you have any questions about the work and how it might impact you, please get in touch with your School or Department IT contact or email IT.Services@lboro.ac.uk

Thank you for your patience.
