Upcoming Happy Mondays events

Join fellow students for two upcoming Happy Mondays events.

Taking place every Monday evening during term time, the Happy Mondays events, organised by LU Arts, provide creative sessions ranging from baking bread to experimenting with tie-dye.

These are free to all students and take place in Cognitos inside the Students’ Union.

The upcoming events are as follows:

  • On 5 March at 7pm, there will be a poetry writing workshop based on the female experience in celebration of International Women’s Day. Led by local poet and performer Shruti Chauhan, the session will explore different ways of generating, shaping and performing poetry.
  • There will also be a zine-making class taking place on 30 April, led by Nottingham print studio Dizzy Ink. Zines are self-published low run publications based on the creator’s interests – whether that is equal rights, films or food – zines give you the chance to put your passion onto paper. You will need to bring in at least five images or pieces of writing to create your zine. Dizzy Ink will then select three of the zines to be printed using the specialist process called Risograph.
