Textile design research conference to be held at Loughborough University London

A one-day conference at Loughborough University London will explore collaborations in textile design research on 13 September 2017.

The event, INTERSECTIONS // Collaborations in Textile Design Research, has been organised by the Textile Design Research Group at Loughborough’s School of the Arts, English and Drama.

The programme features contributions from international academics that address areas of textile collaborations across industry, practitioners and artisans, as well as archives, science and collaborations for wellbeing.

The conference keynote speakers are:

  • Annie Warburton - Creative Director at the Crafts Council and directs the Crafts Council’s innovation programme, including the biennial international conference Make:Shift and the 2017 Innovation through Craft research report with KPMG.
  • Jessica Hemmings - Professor of Crafts & Vice-Prefekt of Research at the Academy of Design & Crafts (HDK), University of Gothenburg, Sweden. Jessica writes about textiles.

An exhibition of work alongside the conference will run from 13 – 14 September.
