Alternative staff travel for Open Days

As many of you will know, on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 September the University will be hosting its second set of open days for 2017.

There will be a significant amount of traffic on campus. To enable prospective students to have a positive experience on campus please consider adjusting how you travel to work on Friday.

Sustainable ways of getting to work

There are a number of great ways to get to campus without bringing your car. Why not try cycling, walking (or running!), or catching the Kinch Bus which is free of charge between 7.30am and 6.00pm along the whole route.

If you chose a sustainable way to get to work, snap a picture and tweet us @SustainLboro using the hashtag #LboroOpenDay - the team would love to see them!

Car sharing

If you do need to use your car to get to work, please consider car sharing with colleagues that live nearby to reduce the number of vehicles parking on campus.

In addition we ask staff to use the following car parks adjacent to the University campus which will be dedicated for staff parking.

  • William Morris Car Park (Garendon Road entrance) - LE11 3US
  • Harry French Car Parks (both sides) - LE11 3UN
  • The Holt Car Parks - LE11 3JB

Free breakfast rolls

As a thank you for choosing a sustainable option of travel you can claim a free breakfast roll (including vegetarian options). There will be a student ambassador stationed at the entrance to the above car parks who will be able to give you (and any car sharing occupants) your voucher/s.

If you travel to work without using your car you can collect your voucher from the Hazlerigg Building reception (from 8.30am) or a member of Team Loughborough staff located on the corner of the road by West Park Teaching Hub.

The vouchers can be redeemed at either James France or EHB Bar until 11.30am on Friday 22 September or at the EHB Bar for alternative items up to the value of £2.50 between Monday 25 and Friday 29 September.
