LU Arts to run creative storytelling workshop at Loogabarooga Festival

LU Arts will be running a creative workshop at Loogabarooga Festival on Tuesday 24 October from 11am-4pm.

Loogabarooga Festival is a week-long event taking place from Wednesday 18- Tuesday 24 October that celebrates the love of books and illustrated literature for the third year running in Loughborough.

This year’s programme includes an Alice in Wonderland chocolate tea party, various writing and craft workshops as well as a Loogabarooga dog show.

As part of the event, LU Arts has organised a free workshop at the Carillon Court Shopping Centre that is suitable for all ages.

‘Outside the Box’ is a project by artist Laura Sorvala that aims to share people’s stories within the local neighbourhood and build these into colourful, illustrated cardboard box sculptures to remind us of the power of small and positive actions.

Sorvala is a Finnish illustrator and artist based in Cardiff, with an interest in mapping individuals’ stories and experiences into visual group narratives. Laura invites all to join her in creating illustrations that tell stories of kindness experienced in everyday lives.

For more information about the workshop, visit the LU Arts website.

Attendees do not need to book and can simply drop in on the day. To view a full list of events taking place, download the Loogabarooga programme online
