Archbishop of Canterbury visits Loughborough University for special event

The Archbishop of Canterbury visited the Loughborough campus on Wednesday 15 November for an event titled “The Archbishop in Conversation”.

Justin Welby was interviewed by ITV News presenter Julie Etchingham at the event which took place from 7:30pm-9pm. They discussed a number of topics, including his journey to faith and why he follows Jesus Christ.

Over 250 guests from the local community attended the event, including Lady Gretton, Lord-Lieutenant and Vice-Chancellor of the University Robert Allison.

The Archbishop had attended a number of events in and around Leicester over a few days and noted at the evening how much he had enjoyed his visit. In the interview, he spoke openly and honestly about his upbringing and how much time he is able to spend with his family with such a busy schedule.

The Archbishop even managed to poke fun at the fact he once applied to Loughborough University and did not get accepted, much to the amusement of the audience in attendance.
