Guests in attendance at Vice Chancellor's reception in London

Annual Reception held by the Vice-Chancellor

Loughborough University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Robert Allison held his Annual Reception last night (Wednesday 10 May).

Hosted at The Gherkin, the iconic building in the heart of the City of London, the event was attended by 140 guests. Alumni and friends of the University met with University staff and students.

The event began with an informal reception where guests were able to enjoy drinks and canapés, mingle and network whilst enjoying stunning views over London.

In a short speech, the Vice-Chancellor highlighted the recent successes of the University and outlined plans for the future, particularly in respect of research activities. 

Guests also heard about research into dementia from Professor Sue Hignett, Professor of Healthcare Ergonomics and Patient Safety. PhD student Paul Brack gave an overview of his research in hydrogen fuel cells.

The night concluded with a further opportunity for guests to mingle, with many sharing stories of their time at Loughborough.
