Loughborough textiles student wins national design competition

Final year textiles student Louisa Taylor has won a national design competition run by Whittard of Chelsea.

The annual ‘Design-a-Caddy’ competition tasks entrants with designing their own tea caddy under the 2017 theme ‘A Very Autumnal Halloween’. Two winners were decided by selecting the design that received the most ‘likes’ on Facebook in each category – Toffee Apple and Pumpkin Spice.

The designs will feature in stores across the country from September, with winners also receiving a presentation at their local store and a special tea hamper.

Speaking about her win, Louisa said: “I am so pleased to have won and can't wait to see my design in stores this autumn. Thank you to everyone who voted and shared my design, it is very much appreciated.

“I entered the competition to experiment with designing for a brand and a product that I love. It was great fun and I am delighted with the result.”
