Professor Neil Doherty

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that Professor Neil Doherty from the School of Business and Economics (SBE) passed away in his sleep on Monday 23rd January.

Colleagues, students and friends from SBE and the wider University are deeply shocked and saddened. Neil had worked in the School for more than 25 years and was a great colleague and a friend to many.

Books of Remembrance for Professor Doherty are open in the Chapel J208, 1st floor, EHB and in the School of Business and Economics room BE.1.01 in Sir Richard Morris building.

At this difficult time, remember University staff have access to free, confidential counselling in the Counselling Service on campus. If you feel you are affected by current events and wish to talk to someone who is not directly involved you can make an appointment by going online at http://www.lboro.ac.uk/disabilities/forms/counselling-assessment-appointment/ or phoning 01509 222148. More information about the Counselling Service can be found at http://www.lboro.ac.uk/services/cds/counselling/.

Neil’s funeral will take place on Thursday 9 February 2017 at 3.30pm at Loughborough Crematorium. Our thoughts are with his wife and family.
