Changes to Cycle2work scheme mean staff can access benefits sooner

Staff can now apply to the Cycle2work scheme as soon as they start working at the University, without having to wait until after the six month probation period is complete.

The Cycle2work scheme is a Government tax exemption introduced to promote healthier and more sustainable journeys to work. Loughborough is signed up to the Halfords Cycle2work scheme and all staff can gain access to a brand new cycle and safety equipment whilst making fantastic savings of up to 42%.

Employees can purchase a brand new bike and safety accessories up to the value of £1,000 tax-free. You will then be able to pay for this monthly from your salary over a period of 18 months.

This scheme will also give you access to 100’s of independent stores and a range of great benefits.

Staff must have a contract of at least 18 months and other terms and conditions must be met in order to qualify for the scheme. More information is available on the University’s Sustainability website.
