Careers Network announce Spring Graduate Recruitment and Placement Fair and the launch of the Lboro Connect app

The University’s Careers Network is set to host the Spring Graduate Recruitment and Placement Fair on Tuesday 28 February, with a wide range of organisations attending – from SMEs to multinational companies.

The fair will welcome some of the world's most prominent organisations offering opportunities across a wide range of employment sectors – including big corporates (Amazon, Arcadia Group, Dixons Carphone), engineering companies (GE, Ford), technology companies (IBM) and a number of sport related companies such as Decathlon and Nike.

Several teaching organisations will also be at the event offering advice and guidance on alternative routes into teaching.

Students will also be able to find out about the different summer holiday jobs organisations have to offer around the world.

The fair will take place in the Sir David Wallace Sports Hall between 11am - 3pm. Students from all year groups and disciplines are welcome to attend, to engage with employers and start planning their career early.

Further information on the fair is available here, and you can follow the latest updates on Twitter using #LboroCareersFair17

To coincide with the Spring Graduate and Placement Fair, the Careers Network has also announced the launch of the Lboro Connect app.

Exclusive to Loughborough students and alumni, Lboro Connect is a vibrant online community offering flexible ways for users to offer and engage with mentoring and networking.

It is an easy way to allow students to begin building their professional networks and for alumni to stay in touch after graduation, keeping the Loughborough family together.

Launched in October 2016, the network currently has over 1000 members, equally split between students and alumni. More than 300 members have offered mentorship opportunities.

Users can access over 50 special interest groups to build a network around shared interests, such as Automotive, Human Resources or Events Management, or groups based on location such as India Alumni Chapter, Hong Kong Alumni or United States Alumni. There are also groups related specifically to career support, such as Enterprise, CV Help or Placements.

Lboro Connect was launched on the App Store and Google Play in January 2017, so users can now connect with a mentor on the go; receive notifications for new messages, and post statuses and questions.

Find out more about the network and how to sign up on the Lboro Connect website.
