Annual UK sand and dust conference to take Loughborough by storm

The Department of Geography will host the 23rd annual Windy Day conference this week.

Aeolian experts from across the world are due to attend the event. The conference will feature work conducted by researchers from Australia, Canada, Namibia, South Africa, USA and across the UK.

There are three sections to the conference: Dunes and Sediment Transport, Dust - chaired by Loughborough's Dr Matt Baddock – and Palaeoenvironmental Aeolian Contexts.

Speakers will include Professor Nick Lancaster, from the Desert Research Institute in Nevada, who will open proceedings.

Windy Day will take place from 11am-5pm on 26 October in the Brockington Building. For a programme and more information, please email Dr Baddock.
