Lboro Connect launched

Lboro Connect, a mentoring and networking platform has been officially launched by the University.

Developed by the Careers Network in association with the Alumni Relations team, Lboro Connect is an online community designed to develop links amongst the University’s alumni and between alumni and students. The aim is to enhance employability and career development opportunities and help students develop vital skills and valuable career information

The community has a range of search options to allow users to connect with individuals and groups based around themes or mutual interests, including profession, industry, expertise, skills, geographical location or educational background.

Lboro Connect also provides comprehensive career information, resources and advice, as well as access to employment opportunities. These opportunities can be posted free of charge, making them exclusively available to Loughborough students and alumni.

Current students, new graduates or those seeking to progress their careers will be able to use the community to develop skills and expand networks.  Alumni who have well established careers can use it to offer knowledge and expertise to students and their fellow alumni.

Joining the community is easy. A profile can be created from scratch or existing social media accounts such as Facebook or LinkedIn can be used to create profiles, making registration and updates very simple.  Profiles can be supplemented with images and videos.

Lboro Connect will allow students and alumni to connect in a safe, supportive and positive community, supported by staff from Careers Network and Alumni Relations teams.

Students can find out more or sign up by visiting the Lboro Connect website

The launch of Lboro Connect follows hot on the heels of the highly successful autumn graduate recruitment and placement fair which took place on campus on 24 and 25 October.  Over 240 organisations attended to offer a range of placement and job opportunities to Loughborough students.
