School counsellors from the US to visit campus

School counsellors from the US are set to visit Loughborough as part of a tour which focuses on the global resonance, creativity and strength of Shakespeare’s cultural legacy.

The British Council, in collaboration with The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust & Marketing Birmingham, is running a counsellor tour of the regions cultural and educational institutions for 30 US based high school counsellors.

As part of the GREAT campaign, the programme aims to showcase how Shakespeare has contributed to the world class opportunities offered to undergraduates by UK higher education.

The visiting counsellors are highly influential in their local, regional and national networks and have been selected as ambassadors to assist in the promotion and recruitment of this initiative and, in UK higher education.

The tour aims to provide the counsellors with the best introduction to studying in the UK, including campus life, taster lectures and, the rich cultural heritage of the region.

The visit will take place on Wednesday 16 March, coinciding with Shakespeare Week on the 14-20 March.
