Two subject areas rated among top 50 internationally

Two subject areas  have been ranked in the top 50 worldwide according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject.

Art and Design, offered through School of the Arts, English and Drama and Loughborough Design School, ranked 38th in the world. The course moved up two places from 40thposition in 2015.

The Department of Social Sciences course, Communication and Media Studies, ranked 41st place internationally. It also moved up two places from 43rd last year.

Mechanical Engineering remains in the top 100, ranking in the 51-100 bracket.

A total of 16 University subjects were ranked within the QS University Rankings, with two remaining in the top 50 for a second year.

The QS World University Rankings by Subject are based on surveys carried out last spring. They highlight the world’s top universities in a range of subject. Ranking is based on academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact.
