Community day will celebrate British Science Week
Loughborough University is running a community day this month to celebrate British Science Week.
The annual event is back on campus on 12 March and organisers are inviting people of all ages to get involved.
Activities and stands will be run by a number of academics from across the University’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths departments throughout the day. There will also be a number of sessions from local schools as well as various ‘science busking’ demonstrations.
Participants will also be able to try ‘walking on custard’ and create ‘human sized bubbles’ which have been very popular in previous years.
The event is free to attend and will run from 1pm – 5pm on 12 March in James France and Stewart Mason Buildings on Loughborough University campus.
The community day is being run as a part of British Science Week. British Science Week is a UK-wide programme of events and activities celebrating science, technology, engineering and maths. This year it is taking place from 11 – 20 March.
Sian Williams, Subject Outreach Specialist at the University, said: “We are delighted to be running the Community Day for another year, it really is a fantastic event with something for all the family. We look forward to welcoming people onto campus.”
