June Sustainability Newsletter available to view now

As the academic year draws to a close, staff might be interested in the following updates from the Sustainability team.

Students will start to move out of halls over the coming months, meaning additional waste is likely to be generated across campus. To ensure that as little waste is sent to landfill as possible, the University has teamed up with the British Heart Foundation and other local charities to enable students to donate their unwanted items instead. Last year, 2,467 bags were donated worth a total of over £34k.

The Loughborough Students’ Landscaping & Gardening Society (LAGS) are also looking for volunteers to help look after the campus garden throughout the summer. They grow flowers, herbs, fruit bushes and vegetables. No gardening skills are necessary to volunteer, just an enthusiasm for nature and some spare time.
