Vice Chancellor holds second alumni reception

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Robert Allison, held the second annual Alumni Reception in London last week (26 May).

The event provided an opportunity for the University to network with some of Loughborough’s alumni and partners. Invited guests included individuals from across business, industry, sport and the voluntary sector. They included former students from countries around the world including the USA, India, Hong Kong and Canada who have all gone on to have successful careers.

The reception was hosted in the National Gallery which houses one of the greatest collections of Western European paintings in the world.

Following welcome refreshments, guests were addressed by the Vice-Chancellor who provided a presentation on the recent successes of the University and its plans for the future. Attendees also heard from the Alumni Advisory Board President Elect, Paul Drummond, and Loughborough Students’ Union President, Jess Excell.

As part of the event, guests were able to explore how they could contribute to the University as a volunteer, or by providing placement opportunities for students.

Professor Robert Allison, commented: “The collective and individual experience of our alumni is invaluable in helping to educate and inspire current University students. Events like this reception allow us to present how the University can work together with our alumni and partners to invest in the future success of Loughborough.”
