Shoebox and soup kitchen success over festive period

The University is thanking staff and students who helped with voluntary and fundraising activities over the festive period.

Thanks to the generosity of staff and students, forty shoeboxes filled with gifts including books and sweet treats were delivered to local shelter The Falcon Centre over the Christmas period, meaning every resident received one.

Many volunteers also helped out with the Christmas soup kitchen which ran on 20 December and 3 January to support disadvantaged and homeless service users. Members of the community were treated to chicken and vegetable pasta bake, crumble, chicken pie and mash and also jam roly poly.
