Professor Roger Smith
Professor of Mathematical Engineering
Professor Smith was appointed lecturer in Mathematics at Loughborough University of Technology in 1971 and was appointed professor in 1997.
Professor Smith’s research includes application of Mathematics to industry, molecular dynamics and long time scale problems and, materials modelling with a particular focus on radiation damage phenomena and thin film growth.
Professor Stephen Case will also be embraking on his role of Professor of Quantitative Criminology for the School of Social Political and Geographical Sciences in January.
