Nominate our technicians for the 2017 Papin Prizes

Nominations for the 2017 Papin Prizes, which recognise the invaluable role played by technicians in UK Higher Education, are now open.

Nominations can be made by any member of the higher education community including students, staff, collaborators and alumni. To be entered, the technician should be currently employed at the University on a part-time or full-time, fixed term or permanent basis.

The deadline for nominations is 31 March 2017.

The winners will be announced and the awards will be presented at the 2017 Technicians in Higher Education Summit, which is being held at the University of Warwick on 31st May 2017, in partnership with Midlands Innovation and the Science Council. Midlands Innovation is a world-class research and innovation partnership, combining the collective excellence of six of the region’s universities, including Loughborough.

Registration for the summit is free.

Warwick’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Stuart Croft, will open the event, with speakers including Professor Dame Carol Robinson (Doctor Lee’s Professor at the University of Oxford), Sir Paul Nurse (Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, Chief Executive and Director of the Francis Crick Institute) and Professor Lord Kumar Bhattacharyya (Chairman and founder of the Warwick Manufacturing Group). Workshop sessions will focus on professional development and networking opportunities.
