Talented placement student recognised by Pirelli
Placement student, Beth Walker-Smith, has been awarded the overall title of Student of the Year by automotive giant, Pirelli.
In July 2015, 24 students from universities across the country embarked on a one year placement with the company each working within a different function in the business.
Towards the end of the year, each department manager provided feedback on what was achieved based on attitude to work, development, communication skills and key involvement on departmental projects.
Beth, who studies Materials Engineering with Design, worked in MF1 at Pirelli and was one of three students to be recognised for their passion and energy during their one year work placement.
Pirelli UK Managing Director, Dominic Sandivasci, said: "We were delighted with our 2015-16 pool of students, and we wish every single one of them the best for the future."
Beth comments: "My role at Pirelli taught me so much and it was great to fully experience what is expected when you work in a factory environment.”
