Students vote Loughborough most popular choice on results day

Loughborough University has been voted the most popular choice for students on A Level results day.

It has been selected as a first choice more times than any other university by student users of Whatuni.com’s Final 5 tool.

The tool helps students research, log and rank the five universities they plan to apply to.

Loughborough University has been the most popular option for the past year amongst the 7,111 students who used the tool to select their top 5 options.

Commenting on their position, Loughborough University Vice Chancellor Professor Robert Allison said: “It is great to see that Loughborough remains the top university choice by students across the country.

“It comes on the back of an incredible year for Loughborough, being voted first in the Times Higher Student Experience Survey 2016, top ten rankings in the national league tables and of course our success in the Whatuni Student Choice Awards.

“Loughborough is a truly unique place with an incredible energy, and the results of the latest Whatuni Final 5 tool are further evidence of this.”

Marcella Collins, the Managing Director UK for the Hotcourses Group, which owns Whatuni.com, added: “This year we’ve seen a record number of students use the Whatuni final 5 tool to shortlist their top universities. With so many factors influencing university choice, thorough research and peer reviews remain a crucial part of the decision making process, and with Loughborough University recently securing 2nd place in the overall category and 1st for Student Union and Clubs & Societies in the Whatuni Student Choice Awards it’s no surprise they feature as our top destination for students who are seeking the best university experience.”
