University awards scholarships for academic excellence

Students were awarded scholarships for academic excellence at a celebratory dinner last night, in recognition of outstanding performance in undergraduate study.

These prestigious awards were presented to the highest performing undergraduates in each School, in each year of study, with the exemption of the graduating year.

The Vice Chancellor and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Teaching), Morag Bell, presented twenty five students with a certificate and a cheque for £500 at the dinner held in the Council Chamber of the Hazelrigg Building.

Also in attendance were the Deans and Associate Deans of Teaching from each School and, members of the Loughborough Students’ Union Exec team.

Pro Vice-Chancellor (Teaching), Morag Bell, comments: “The scholarships for academic excellence reward students who have performed exceptionally well within their School and year of study. These awards are designed to recognise and celebrate their outstanding achievement.”

These awards are one of many presented by the Schools, University and the Students’ Union. Others include the Sir Robert Martin Prize, Loughborough Experience Awards, Development Trust Prizes, Graduate School Prizes, Graduate School Research Student Prizes, the T S Shipman Prizes and various sponsored awards in Schools.
