Before the University breaks up for Easter, staff might be interested by the following updates from the Sustainability team.

Last year, the University consumed approximately £28k of electricity over the four day Easter holiday. Staff are asked to be aware of this and to actively help reduce this figure by turning off all unrequired equipment.

Following a survey conducted with the aim of improving biodiversity in and around East Park, a programme of enhancements are to be implemented to the local environment in this area. These include planting trees, shrubs and climbing plants and, sowing the margins of Butler Court and the sites of the cleared buildings with wildflower grassland.

The University’s Travel Plan is currently being updated and the Sustainability team is keen to hear the thoughts of staff and students.
