First year students exhibit work at local museum
Fourteen Textiles students have teamed up with independent community group, Charnwood Arts, to create an exhibition based at Charnwood Museum.
Our Knitted Story is the Big Knitting Groups latest research project due to open to the public on Saturday 6 June.
The focus of the project is to highlight the personal histories of hand crafting and the bringing together of stories and memories from the local community about knitting, crocheting and other textile based activities.
The students’ work will be displayed as part of the installation titled ‘The Enchanted Garden’. This installation will be used as a storytelling environment for groups throughout the duration of the exhibition.
