Do you know a community hero?

Charnwood Borough Council is encouraging local people to nominate their heroes ahead of a special community day to be held in August.

The council is looking to recognise individuals who make an outstanding contribution within their local community.

Heroes can range from someone who litter picks in their local area to supports and organisers of voluntary groups.

Nomination rules

Who can nominate?

Anyone who lives or works in Charnwood.

Who can be nominated?

Anyone who lives or works in Charnwood.

What happens after someone has been nominated?

The nominee will be contacted to ask permission to tell their story. If they agree, this will be shared through various media channels.

All those nominated and their nominees will be invited to Charnwood Community Heroes Day on August 2 in Loughborough town centre. Local heroes will receive a Certificate of Appreciation.

On the day there will be stalls alongside street performers, musicians and singers. The day has been designed to showcase the diversity, passion, hard work and great fun of community groups and organisation.
