Professor Mary Kellett to deliver annual lecture

Professor Mary Kellett is set to deliver an annual lecture, titled Child-led research: critical issues and impacts for social mobility.

The lecture, to be held on 24 February, will discuss her most recent work, which reflects upon how children’s own research can contribute to social mobility.

Professor Kellett is Dean of the Faculty of Education and Language Studies and Founder of the Children’s Research Centre at the Open University. The Children’s Research Centre is known globally for its ground breaking work training and supporting young people to undertake their own research.

Professor Kellett’s work includes challenging research relationships between children and adults prompting researchers to consider: children’s participation and voices in research, children’s rights, developing communication skills in children with severe learning difficulties, disaffected learners and building children's self-esteem.

The lecture will take place at 13.00 - 14.30 in the Clyde Williams Building, 0.23. Tea, coffee and cake will be provided after the lecture.
