Academic receives Engineering Impact Award

Tony Sutton has received an Engineering Impact Award in the education category for his work on revolutionising mechatronics education.

His paper, titled Robotic Table Football: Revolutionising Mechatronics Education Using myRIO and Labview, details how his work using LabVIEW and myRIO has revolutionised a hands-on approach to teaching mechatronics systems integration.

Conducting lab experiments based on a robotic football game, he found an increase in student engagement and comprehension, resulting in some of the best student feedback and most sophisticated software designs ever seen.

Tony, School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, received his award in November at the Royal Academy of Engineering.
