Important Notice: Group Workspace Creation Freeze

The Group Workspace service has reached critical capacity, frequently hitting less than 1% free space, putting the service at-risk.

The Change Advisory Board have approved a freeze on new group Workspace creation while IT Services review the data on each of the 2,748 group Workspaces and approach group Workspace Managers to clear old files and delete group Workspaces no longer in use, as per of their responsibilities.

IT Services will continue to consider exceptionally urgent or mission critical group Workspace requests made with appropriate business cases. These should be forwarded to Clive Woodhouse or Jeremy Byrne in our Academic and Business Partnering team in the first instance.

In the meantime, it would greatly assist if you could delete files no longer in use as per the advice & guidance given under 'Responsibilities of a Workspace Manager' on http://www.lboro.ac.uk/services/it/storage/group-workspace/

If you have any queries regarding this, please contact the IT Service Desk via it.services@lboro.ac.uk or on extension 222333
