SBE academic contributes to award-winning international symposium

A symposium featuring papers from Dr Cheryl Travers and her co-researchers from the School of Business and Economics (SBE) was honoured at the 74th annual meeting of the Academy of Management in Philadelphia, USA, in August.

It was judged ‘Best Symposium’ by the Management Education and Development Division (MED) of the Academy of Management for its significant contribution to management education and development.

Dr Travers provided two of the four papers presented at the meeting.

The symposium examines how goal-setting contributes to students’ academic performance and personal development, how to induce it, and whether writing goals out and committing them to paper makes them more effective.
