General Assembly: Opportunity for all staff to hear from the Vice Chancellor

All staff are invited to attend the next meeting of the General Assembly at 4pm on Wednesday 15 October 2014 in Room CC011 in James France.

The Vice Chancellor will review recent successes and look forward to the priorities for the coming academic year.

Under the provisions of Statute XV, the General Assembly may discuss and declare an opinion on any matter relating to the University, including any matter referred to it by the Council or the Senate, and may, if it so decides, submit resolutions to the Council or Senate.

Senate and Council recently approved changes to the composition of General Assembly to allow all staff to be members, not just academic and academic-related staff. The formal changes to the University Statutes are still subject to approval by the Privy Council but we have invited all staff to attend this meeting in anticipation of that approval.

We very much hope that you will be able to attend and look forward to seeing you there.

Please note: Should a formal vote be required at the October meeting, only academic and academic-related staff will be eligible to take part on this occasion.
