Paperless meetings launched

Each year the University runs approximately 1,750 meetings and spends 970 hours of staff time printing meeting papers at a cost of about £10,000.

To encourage more people to adopt paperless meetings, a new standard process has now been developed by the University Change Team and IT Services.

The process has been designed so that no matter whether you are attending a formal University Committee or a local meeting in your School or service, you will have one, simple way of accessing your electronic papers: through a single, reduced sized, bookmarked PDF. The process provides meeting members and administrators with a simple way of creating, circulating, accessing and annotating meeting papers electronically, regardless of what types of device are being used, or whether staff are on- or off-campus.

Step-by-step guides for meeting administrators and members are available on the Paperless Meetings website. Open training sessions on the new process are being held on:

  • Friday 31 October 2-3pm in SMB1.08
  • Friday 7 November 11-12 in Library Seminar room 2.
