Seventh Queen’s Anniversary Prize presented to Loughborough

Vice Chancellor Professor Bob Allison and the Dean of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Professor Rob Parkin, were at Buckingham Palace today to be presented with Loughborough’s seventh Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education.

The award was presented in recognition of Loughborough’s impact through research and skills development in High Value Manufacturing (HVM) to create economic growth.

Loughborough is an acknowledged leader HVM, with the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering making an important contribution to the health of manufacturing in the UK.

Over 500 national and international organisations work in partnership with the University on projects and ideas that enable the rapid development of better products, translating cutting-edge research into practical benefit.

Through its academic degree programmes and professional short courses, Loughborough also supplies industry with highly qualified and skilled engineers, who are crucial to the continued growth of HVM.
