New Director of the Graduate School

Professor Andrew Dainty, Associate Dean for Research in the School of Civil and Building Engineering, has been appointed as Director of the Graduate School. He began in the role on 3 February.

The Graduate School brings together the postgraduate research student community, providing support and ensuring that all students have the chance to make the most of the wider student experience.

The Director of the Graduate School leads the University's postgrad research (PGR) programmes and, in liaison with Schools, ensures that the size and distribution of the PGR student population remains at an optimum level.

Of his appointment, Professor Dainty said: “I am delighted to be taking up this new role to lead developments in the University’s postgraduate research programmes. The University has a proud tradition of providing excellent training and support for our doctoral students and I look forward to working with colleagues across the institution to further enhance this experience over the next few years.”
