Loughborough grad Seb Coe in Sport Relief ‘Clash of the Titans’

Loughborough graduate Sebastian Coe is returning to his days of athletic prowess by captaining a team of celebrities for a Sport Relief challenge.

Lord Coe – a world record-breaking middle-distance runner who won two Olympic golds and is now Loughborough’s Pro-Chancellor – will go up against a team captained by comic John Bishop for the Clash Of The Titans.

The two captains and their team-mates will compete in a series of head-to-head challenge events, including track cycling, rhythmic gymnastics and swimming, at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park –which will be home to Loughborough University in London!

The challenge will be broadcast live on the BBC on 21 March.

Lord Coe won gold in the 1500m, and silver in the 800m, at both the 1980 and 1984 Olympics.

He later led London's successful bid for the 2012 Olympics and was subsequently made chairman of Games organiser LOCOG.
