Staff sought for food and drink study

Staff from across the University are being asked to take part in a new study looking at what we eat and drink at work.

Research associate Prema Nirgude in the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences (SSEHS) hopes to recruit up to 30 colleagues for this simple 24 hour study.

Participants will need to provide urine samples on two consecutive mornings and keep a record of everything they eat and drink during the 24 hours in between. You will also be required to attend an informal focus group lasting 60 to 90 minutes. Testing and focus groups will be scheduled around colleagues’ working hours.

Prema is looking for colleagues from all job families, but is particularly keen to recruit staff working in non-office roles. Participants will receive a £10 gift voucher.

To sign up or for more information contact Prema on 228 165 or email p.s.nirgude@lboro.ac.uk

Findings will give Loughborough’s researchers valuable insights into what employees consume whilst at work, and will help develop recommendations for healthy eating in the workplace.
