David Llewellyn re-elected Chair of top EU post

David Llewellyn, Professor of Money and Banking at the School of Business and Economics, has been re-elected by the EU Commission and the Board of EU Bank Supervisors as the Chair of the European Banking Authority’s (EBA) Banking Stakeholder Group (BSG).
“There are formidable challenges ahead in the area of bank regulation,” says David, “and the top priorities must be to have a safe and stable banking system and to ensure that never again should the tax-payer be called upon to bail out failing banks. The EBA and BSG both have important roles in this area, and I am delighted to have an opportunity to make a contribution.”
