Families often experience periods of separation, perhaps while one parent is away on business. This can be particularly hard for young children to cope with.

Milo will help families to stay in touch while they are apart.

The family receives weekly clues from Milo, guiding them to find hidden tokens. These plug into the Milo base unit, activating a video message from the absent loved one to which the family can reply. The tokens also help the child track how long it is until their parent returns by acting as a visual countdown.

Milo is currently undergoing further user testing and development to refine its functionality, and will then go into manufacture. The company is currently seeking supporters to fund Milo’s journey to market and will be starting Entrepreneurial Spark, a business accelerator, in August 2016.

Starting your own business is a constant learning curve - full of uncertainty. You have to be determined and really believe in what you’re doing to take that leap into the unknown.
