Elite triathlete James Lock launched Zone3 in 2009, and the company is now a prominent UK triathlon brand specialising in high quality, performance products.

Disappointed by the range of equipment on the market, James started to develop his first triathlon suit whilst still studying for his degree in Architectural Engineering and Design Management.

When he graduated, he secured a base in the University’s Innovation Centre and continued his research and product development.

Since then, the company has expanded rapidly and now trades world-wide, reporting a turnover of £3 million a year.

As well as wetsuits, Zone3 offers a full range of tri suits, and swim accessories – all available through a network of 50 retail outlets as well as an online store – and equips amateur and professional athletes as well as teams and clubs.

The company has an enviable reputation for quality and value – supported by excellent industry reviews and awards, including being dubbed "the greatest aquatic miracle since Moses" (GQ magazine).

Milestones

  • 2007 

    James launches Zone3

  • 2010 

    Zone3’s first retail range was launched, and the Aspire wetsuit was judged "10/10" in  220 Triathlon Magazine

  • 2013 

    Elite athletes - including Tyler Butterfield - began to wear Zone3 wetsuits, and the Advance suit won the BEST BUY award in 220 Triathlon Magazine

  • 2014 

    Zone3 goes global with offices around Europe, Australasia, South Africa and the US
