Claud Williams founded media company Starlight Imagery one year into his degree at Loughborough and hasn't looked back since.
The business offers a range of photography and video services from location photo shoots to events and celebrations and recently opened a photography studio in Loughborough.
Claud knew he wanted to run his own business from an early age: “After a day and a half of working for someone else during work experience week in secondary school, I knew it wasn’t for me.’’
He used money raised from his first entrepreneurial venture - a sports events company - to buy his first camera and launch a photography business.
Claud received business training, one-to-one advice sessions and funding through Enterprise Inc, a project designed to encourage and support students who want to develop enterprising ideas into businesses.
He quickly found that running a business and studying for a degree at the same time was a challenge.
“Now I have a business partner and I’m also building a media team that's beginning to complete entire projects without my input,’’ he said.
Claud added: “I’m proud of watching my business continue to grow. Sometimes it’s hard to believe where everything started, compared to where it is today and what the future holds.’’
