The Caterpillar Innovation and Research Centre, launched in 2011, is investigating new low-emissions technologies for internal combustion engines.
A global centre of technical excellence enabling the UK to lead innovation in low carbon transport technologies, it provides a test and research facility that will enable rapid selection of the exceptional engineering solution from the many possible solutions in the controlled environment of a testcell.
The centre builds on a Strategic Research Partnership, forged over many years, in which the Loughborough research teams working innovatively across different disciplines have explored pioneering technologies under Caterpillar guidance.
