Sports consultancy validates Speedo's world beating triathlon suit

Speedo collaborated with University spin out Progressive Sports Technologies to enable the company to move into the triathlon market.
They worked on the development of a new triathlon suit which used LZR Racer swimsuit technology, as worn by record breakers Michael Phelps and Rebecca Adlington.
Speedo commissioned Progressive to help with the scientific assessment of the new suit in a controlled climate chamber. Infrared skin temperature measurements were captured, along with the athlete's perception of comfort, fit and function.
Impact
- Progressive used Loughborough-based elite triathletes to validate Speedo’s claim to have developed the lightest and fastest drying triathlon suit on the market
- Launched in January 2010, the Speedo LZR Racer Tri-Pro has received widespread acclaim from both the high performance and mass markets
- Its commercial success has initiated a strategic global roll out of this and new triathlon products in early 2011
