Leicestershire County Council has a staff of 15,000, provides services including education, social care, transport, waste management and culture and leisure to 650,000 people, so efficient and effective communication can be a challenge. It has embarked on a Knowledge Transfer Partnership with our information and computer science experts in order to save money and improve services.
The project will build a workforce which is trained in information and knowledge management and which shares a common culture in that area. It aims to feed innovation into the implementation of Leicestershire’s information management strategy to ensure continuity and consistency in the way information is gathered, shared and stored across this massive organisation.
We have been instrumental in helping to train Leicestershire County Council staff in the past and this project has developed from our established relationship. This project could be significant in changing the way Local Authorities are run across the country.
